Went thru the Novice Install procedure and have repeated xf86config, setting
up for a Mach64 wrt/H-sync, V-sync, etc.  Mostly, the choices are already in
menu selections, so it's not a matter of try to "interpolate" a valid setting.
Still, when I issue startx, I get a flash of messages too quick to read and
then a blank screen.  The Ctrl-Alt-+ and Ctrl-Alt-Bksp controls do nothing. I
did check the FAQ, but no hints.  This is probably something obvious (once I
see it), but can anyone offer any help?  Thanks.
