i have a problem with bsdi echo, both /bin/echo and tcsh's builtin.

in my .tcshrc i have an alias that updates my xterm titles like so:
alias precmd 'echo -n "\033]2; $USER@"$HOST" - $PWD\007"'

bsdi echo doesn't understand the \### directive.

is there an equivalent i should know of?
this is bsdi 1.1, i don't have the chance to try it with 2.x

any help would be appreciated.

					thanks your your time
