I am currently trying to boot Netbsd on a Sun 4c from a network. I tried
HP-UX, SVR3, and BSDI boxes and none worked, for various reasons (the
BSDI network code is so screwy I have sworn off BSDI for the duration).
I am now going to try Netbsd on a 386 to do it.

Netbsd seems to have everything you need, namely rarpd (or bootp if you
have something newer than my Sun), tftp, bootparamd, and NFS.
