I'm porting a project from an old SysV platform to FreeBSD 2.0R which doesn't
have lockf().

Before I write my own lockf() that calls fcntl(), I thought I better ask if
anyone else has already done this (or has a better idea) before I reinvent the
wheel.

Comments, feedback, shared code all appreciated. Flames feared like the
plague.
