Such a compilation already exists. The database is maintained by David Wexelblat <dwex@mtgzfs3.att.com>, and can be found on export.lcs.mit.edu in /contrib/modeDB.txt.Z. It is also included in the XFree86 distribution (/usr/X386/lib/X11/etc/modeDB.txt). The file is currently about 45K -- so is a bit large to post here.
