Hi Folks,

I am in the process of restructuring our network.. I am having a few
problems coming to terms with what I exactly have to do in respect to
routing and netmasks and stuff. Excuse the amateurish diagrams.

Here is what I need to do..

hosts on this net hosts on this net
           | | | | | | | | |
           ---------------- -------------------
             203.9.159.1 203.9.159.128
           ---------------- -------------------
                  | |
                  | |
                  \ /
                   \ /
                    \ /
                     \ /
                      \ /
                       \ /
                        \ /
                         \ /
                       ---------------------
                            our new isp
                              let's say
                            the router is
                             130.131.9.1
                       ---------------------

Since both networks are connecting to the same router box at the isp I
see this as a good thing.

Is the netmask on both .1 and .128 supposed to be 255.255.255.128 ?
does this mean that I simply point the routes by

route add -net 203.9.159.127 130.131.9.1 on the .1 system and
route add -net 203.9.159.0 130.131.9.1 on the .128 system?

I know that splitting the network in half was the easiest and best
choice, I just can't quite figure how the two nets talk to each other.
the boxes aren't exaclty next door to each other either.
Seeing as they both talk to the same router, I know this is going to be
an easy one to solve, but I must be missing something somewhere.

any help or offers of assistance would be appreciated.
