I have Pentium with FreeBSD 2.1.0. I have a  SMC elite 16
ethernet card connected to a hub, which is part of a private
network system. When I boot my system, I got the following
 error message:
   ifconfig: ioctl (SIOCGIFFLAGS): no such interface

which caused routed and syslogd dead.

I have the following two lines in /etc/sysconfig
network_interfaces="ed0 lo0"
ifconfig_ed0="inet 192.168.0.2  netmask 255.255.255.0"

I will be grateful if someone can give me some hints about
the problem.
