Sigh, it works for me.  I've been integrating a 2 GB Seacrate Hawk a
couple of days ago.  I've only created a temporary file from disklabel
/dev/rsd2c, edited it (it claimed 4 partitions, while i was eager to
get 8, plus i had to fiddle the rpm and interleave values), and wrote
it back to the disk with disklabel -r -R sd2.  After this, i've been
running dikslabel -e sd2 to perform the actual partitioning.

I thing about how to put all this together into disklabel(8) itself,
so you could just say ``disklabel -r sd2 auto'' in order to label a
new disk.
