Hmm, this may or may not be your problem but if other solutions you try don't
work, look into this one:

I had a number of unusual panics() one time, most vm_faults as you're having.
The problem?  One of the disks started to go bad.  Swapping out the suspected
disk (it later began giving sdX: Error... problems, I can't remember
the exact error) fixed all the problems.  Actually, this "disk going bad
with unusual errors" problem has happened on two of our systems.  Also,
ask around here for a list of motherboards with known cache problems
and see if thats it.  Could also be scsi cabeling or termination.. *shrug*
