I am pushing the release date for the patch kit Beta-1 distribution
(the initial public release) from 01 Oct 92 ("today" -- the clock has rolled)
to 03 Oct 92 (Saturday).

I have done this in order to include what I feel are significant
enhancements to NFS and the kernel virtual memory system.

To whet your appetite, here are some of the features of the patch kit:

o	Nearly 60 patches (I may push this over the top), including:

+	A patch to allow *all* the games to compile.
	+	All known "X" patches.
	+	All known "ps" patches.
	+	A working "netstat".

o	Ability to "IALL" ("Install ALL") and walk away.

o	Enhancements to the Alpha user interface.

o	All known bugs in all patches have been corrected.

o	Ability to create new directories during patch installation.

o	Correct permissions/ownership on new files/directories.

o	Disable non-root use.

o	"/patch" created as a symbolic link to really allow
installation anywhere (had to modify "patches" before).

o	Cleanup of "leftover" files in previous patches.

I appologize for the delay -- I hate not meeting deadlines, even
self-imposed ones -- and any inconvenience as a result of it. The extra
wait should definitely be worth it.
