I'm trying to duplicate my current uucp news setup from linux on my
newly installed FreeBSD. I use the older "cleanup" release of c-news and
nn using nn's built in database manager, and I've got nn working fine,
but my attempts to port c-news are running into a problem that I think
is sh related. News comes in fine but when uuxqt runs rnews, rnews moves
all the batches to in.coming/bad. After moving them up into incoming
again, I managed to get newsrun to work properly to unpack them by
changing #!/bin/sh to #!/bin/bash in the newsrun script, but I cannot
figure out why rnews is filing articles under bad. It's not sending any
meaningful error messages to usenet.

Has anyone run across this and fixed it? I really don't want to install
the precompiled c-news for FreeBSD because it's the one with NOV and I
don't want the NOV database locally, as NN doesn't deal with it all that
well yet.
