I'm setting up a multiline system on FreeBSD. The original plan was to buy a
terminal server to handle the modems, but I'm not getting as much money as I
had planned on. So, incase I can't get a terminal server to fit the budget...
is anybody running a bunch of multiserial cards (IE: 3 STB 4 COM boards with
shared IRQ). How well would this work?

I'd prefer a 16 port terminal server for expansion down the road and there
might be a second server down the road for load sharing or something. But,
I'm pretty sure I can get 3 cards for less than the terminal server....to get
around the budget shortfall for now. Though I suspect getting one later will
be even harder.

Right now, I need to be able to handle 10 or 11 modems. (an extra one for just
me 8-)
