This board works fine with two caveats.  The problems I know of
are occasional warm boot probe problems where you won't find the
ports during boot up without a power cycle (and in my experience after
I've been monkeying with the serial driver) and no modem control
support (since the wires aren't there).

The BB1008 doesn't have modem control - are RTSCTS part of modem
control? I don't have the Boca documentation here to see if that
is part of the board- look in the back of their manual where they
give you the pinout for the ports.  To get off the ground, try
setting the device as a hardwired terminal with no modem control:

> stty clocal < /dev/ttyid4

and see if that works, then go from there.
