There is a reason why there are two separate releases of X386.
>From an X11R5 besides the xconsole problem, all the questions/problems
with X386 have been answered with the release in
agate.berkeley.edu:/pub/incoming/X386. The /pub/incoming/X386 release
is waiting for kernel changes. Please, don't ask me for what kernel changes!
I know that is sounds strange...

For questions such as the now famous "/dev/vga", please read the
readme file in /pub/incoming/X386. If you are experiencieng problems
with your mouse behavior such as in microsoft mode, just get
the release on /pub/incoming/X386.

We will prepared a FAQ before the week is over and I will be
more than happy to send it to Terry.

Hope this helps,
