We're opening an internet Cafe/Bar & Restaurant in the South of England
in March, and my research has led me to believe that I can serve my internal
LAN (30 PCs and/or Macs) on a Pentium with Linux and FreeBSD (which will
give the simplest step-by-step installation for a Web/mail server).

Is FreeBSD this easy ?
Can it handle (or is there support for) a news server ?
Do I need additional software for LAN support ?
WHAT IS the difference between FreeBSD and NetBSD ?
Why are Linux and FreeBSD compared against each other, don't you need
Linux to operate FreeBSD ?
What platforms are FreeBSD and NetBSD available on, and are there any other
BSD (freeware or commercial) that are better on any platform ?

Oh, and why are there so many freebsd.hacker newsgroups ? 8-]

Advice or answers to ANY (or all, if your clever !) of these questions would be
gratefully recieved !!!

Are all these newby questions in a FAQ somewhere ?
I only heard about BSD tonight. 8-]

Pete.
