Actually, the installation program is kinda nice. I will withhold
congratulations, since I have a complaint. I happen to be doing a floppy
install, with a batch of old diskettes (from a previous dos backup). Well,
there were two diskettes which had problems.  One was just a bad diskette;
the other, a truncated file--apparently an incomplete download. The install
program did not indicate which diskette was bad... the failure
showed up when reading the bin.ca diskette. Thinking it was the bin.c_
group, I downloaded those files several more times, always having the same
problem. It turned out it was bin.bz that was bad.

If I had any advice for someone else doing an install, it would be to set up
a dos partition large enough to load the floppies onto, and then do a DOS
Partition install--which I finally did. That way, I knew all the files were
"good" ahead of time since I had done a DOS copy onto the hard disk, and
installation was a breeze after that.

There are a number of "levels" of installation, but I couldn't find a list
of what directories in the RELEASE directory were needed for each level. I
ended up doing a download of the bin directory, and then starting the
install... as another set of files was asked for, I'd go download it.
Admittedly, I'll use a CDROM next time.
