I'm running a Tseng Labs ET4000 card that I bought for $85.00.
it claims to have the following clocks:

25 28 33 37 40 45 51 57 65 73 80 90 102 131

This sucker runs fast, is dirt cheap, and can drive 1280x1024x4 or 1024x1024x8.
the only downside is that it only has 1M of frame buffer.

finally, I am running a noname, $320.00 14" NI svga monitor with the following
Xconfig:

"1024x768" 65 1024 1064 1096 1312 768 768 769 790

this is nearly 70 Hz refresh, as I have tuned it a bit.

clearly, the upgrading the monitor is next.
