Getting serial ports to work for tip(1) isn't too bad,
but you need to keep these in mind:

* softcar should be in /etc/ttys for the port (rtscts isn't a bad idea either)
* whoever you want to dial out should be in group dialer
* the device should be in /etc/remote
* the device should be owned by uucp.dialer

In addition of that, you might want to touch /var/log/aculog and
make sure it's owned by uucp.dialer as well.  Then again, maybe
not if you don't care about logging...
