I never attempted to port NetBSD but I did hack (Hot-)Java to run on
Alpha/OSF.  The problem with Java is not complexity.  It's just written
without any discernible thought given to portability (to put it mildly.)
Smells a lot like NeWS (R.I.P.)

(Not that I agree with the original mr. Dillon's "if there is no book
about something it can't exist" theory.)
