I know this is probably a very obvious question, but here goes anyways...

I have an HP Pavilion 7050 PC (Pentium-100 w/40MB RAM and 1.2GB EIDE HDD). It
also has an IDE CD-ROM Drive. It seems like a generic one but it's apparently
not a Mitsumi or Panasonic or Sony. Probably HP's generic one. The thing is
that the BOIS directly supports the HDD, you don't need to load any drivers or
anything!

I would like to get this working under FreeBSd but so far, I haven't been able
to. I don't see support in the generic kernel and I was wondering if there is a
way to recompile the kernel with support for this. Or perhaps I can mount this
as another hard drive since it is BIOS supported???

The HP also has a sound card (SB compatible) built into the motherboard. Can I
add-in Soundblaster support even though it is not a true SB?

Thanks for any and all help, folks..

Mike
