For instance, try and have it send uucp mail without the domain attached like Waffle needs. Anyways, ive had these same errors too, and they had to do with bad From_ headers coming from UUCP nodes. Im one of those stupid people, that then goes and fixes their rmail to not break on bad From_ headers. Particularly watch for From_ lines without any domain in it. I dont know if this is your problem also, but for me rmail was and is a continuous source of trouble.
