: Also a great deal of Companys will not go for an *unsupported* software
: like freebsd, whereas they will gladly believe a product which they pay
: out the as$ for is godly, example :windows. Not that BSDI is bad, I have
: a primo BSDI Internet Server here that supports over 1000 users on the
: net.

The only real reason I haven't switched my BSDI 1.0 box over
to FreeBSD 2.1 is because I've been unable to get a popserver
working correctly. Qpopper compiles, but won't correctly
validate user passwords on FreeBSD 2.1. (I got qpopper from
the ports section of ftp.freebsd.org). It seems to have
problems with the shadow passwords (as near as I can tell).

The system in question is an ISP machine with roughly 500-600
regular users, many of whom rely on our popmail server.
I could use my grandfather status and get BSDI 2.0.1, but
I'm getting fond of having the operating system source. :)

sigh...

Regards,

Chris
