we seem to be experencing problems with a elite16 ethernet card
on a 33MHz 386 with 64K cache. the card is able to send packets
however, the entire ethernet packet seems to be garbled. the
card is fully functional under DOS, and only misbehaves under
386BSD.

in hacking the if_we.c driver, it appears that the 16K buffer on the
card is only word addressable. all 8 bit accesses on odd addresses
seem to fail.

any clues would be greatly appreciated!
