I'm trying to get FreeBSD 2.0.1 to recognize the 10base-T port on a
3Com 3C509 EIII Combo board, so far with no success. I am running
the GENERIC kernel and the card comes up under the "ep0" interface.
The BNC-thinnet interface works fine. I've confirmed that the 10baseT
connection has link-level connectivity.

I have tried a variety of "link" options to the ifconfig command
with no luck.

The one that I thought would work was

	ifconfig ep0 -link0 -link2 link1

Something similar has worked on BSDI machines with the same board
and under FreeBSd when configuring the "de0" interface.

Is there some problem with the "ep" driver that prevents this from
working correctly? Is there a chance that the board is broken? It is
much more likely that I simply have not hit upon the particular spell
to make it work correctly.

Any advice would be welcome.
