Uh, how big a partition?

DOS partitioning is limited to 8G, period.

Disklabel is (I think) also limited to 8G offsets.

You will need to make 2 or more (probably at least 3 to force them
below 4G each) partitions.

Or fix the slice code and modify disklabel handling yourself.
