I hope he is wrong, otherwise the system I have been running for the
last few weeks is in imminent danger of going kaput :)

I have had no problems running with an IDE drive (Maxtor 200Meg on
a 386SX, 8MB RAM, EGA card, 2S/1P/1G, 3com 3C503, Archive Tape Ctrl).
