I have a Zenith Data Systems Z-NoteFlex. I went and got the
2.1.0 ssys source and installed it and I still have the two
issues with the sound that were in the snaps:

1. I must comment out most of probe_ms_sound() except for the last
return statement. Perhaps my machine is bizarre in some way with
regards to the supposed signature bytes?

2. The mixer is not doing the right thing on the microphone.
xmix correctly shows that the DSP And mic are the only two things
there, and fiddling with the DSP control works, but fiddling with
the mic level does nothing at all, and the mic is up full, which
causes feedback when I play any sound. It would not seem to
be the textbook way of doing it to have both the speaker and mic
live at the same time. :-)

Neither of these symptoms occur under win95.

Could someone associated with /sys/i386/isa/sound/ad1848.c get
in touch with me? I'd like to work on this, but not alone. :-)

Thanks.
