Interesting.  Tell me more about FreeBAS.  What is it? :-)

You would better upgrade to a newer version, btw.  Read the LINT
kernel config file (/usr/src/sys/i386/conf/LINT), it tells you about
``options QUOTA''.  You have to compile a new kernel with this
enabled.
