Dont know if it is still there but you could try: ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/docs/lpr.faq slight differences but mostly the same as FreeBSD. Note if you are going to use an HPLJ you will most probably need ghostscript as well to convert ps -> pcl. See the above doco for good examples on hot to set up filters and printers.
