The tree is all installed, the kernel is there, everything's hunkydory up to the final stage The documentation for making the disk bootable in the NetBSD installation guide seems to only be valid for SunOS 4? Unfortunately my starting point is Sloaris 2.4 (SunOS 5.4), which doesn't appear to have a /boot program to install using installboot(1m). A look at the installboot manpage tells me the program seems to have changed unrecognizably from the syntax outlined in the installation text file, which says sunos # cp /boot /mnt/boot sunos # /usr/mdec/installboot -vlt /mnt/boot /usr/mdec/bootsd /dev/rsd2a Nowadays, Sloaris has files called /ufsboot and /hsfsboot, but the installboot manpage only mentions /usr/lib/fs/ufs/bootblk. I tried using that, and copying /ufsboot to /mnt/boot, and copying .../bootblk to /mnt/boot (where /mnt is the NetBSD root partition), and all return Boot load failed\nInvalid instruction. Can someone enlighten me as to the correct way to prime the disk to boot netbsd from Sloaris 2.4, or am I going to have to go down the NFS route?
