What we need here is to upgarde a kernel without rebooting the
machine. maybe overwriting it's in-RAM image while using some kind of
'aternate kernel' in RAM to operate in while exchanging the main one.

This is a major stability problem. How are we supposed to reach high
uptimes when we have to restart the kernel every 6 months?

Really, FreeBSD can't be called stable as long as we have to reboot
for upgrades.
