We use Chase Research IOLAN and had the same problems with our
Sportsters. In the rear of the Sportsters are DIP switches (8 to be
exact). Place all but the 8th one in the OFF position. Also, we used
the init string 'AT&E0&Q0&F1&W'. After placing this init string in the
appropriate place, reboot the terminal server. Telnet back into the
admin progam and erase the init string and reboot again. The
Sportsters have difficulty with having the same init string being sent
over and over again (or least that is the hypothesis we came up with).
