Actually that's ftp.cdrom.com:/.3/FreeBSD/docs

And IMHO quite a Bad Thing to use that path. The ``/.3'' is simply where
Jordan? decided to mount the partition that holds FreeBSD. There is a
symbolic link in /pub for all the "packages" Walnut Creak has for ftp to
the mount point for that "package". Someday the sysadmin
might be bored (ok, probably not), and decide to mount it on /foobar. But
I'll assume would fix the link.

The reason, you see ftp.cdrom.com:/.3/FreeBSD/docs is because NcFTP shows
the real path rather than the "virtual" path. You often see this type of
behavior on SunOS with NFS mounted volumes. You will see "/tmp_mnt" before
what you thought was the path.
