Ok, I have looked at this myself. I have replace the 2.1-1026-snap telnet
and telnetd with the binaries from 2.0.5-R. It works fine. I did that
because i realized that /usr/lib/libtelnet*so* did not have th symbols
asked for in the example above in 1.1.so or 2.0.so. So, (no pun intended),
its seems there are needs in the 2.1-snap telnet and telnetd that are not
around. Oddly enough i found these neeed symbols in the .a files.
Obviously to the godly out there, there is some knowledge missing in my
little head about how libs, shared libs, ld.hints and ld.so works. I have
a working knowledgebut not every part o the concept down. i shall endeavor
to read a book :) Either way, there's a bug :) ... OR ... I believe that,
looking at the types of symbols missing, these are two symbols that would
be used by something that was kerberized. Kerberos needs timezone realm
info... and of course encryption... so i was thinking I did request
des/krb stuffs in my recent install of 2.1-SNAP, but perhaps I missed
something? And this is the result...

anyhow, all circumstantial, perhaps all wrong ideas and evidence. Perhaps
someone will look into this.
