	I had some trouble getting PPP to work also, and from what I see above
I  have one question.  Can you get it to work using the terminal?  My
situation was that I could get it to work fine using the terminal
funciton in PPP to dial, then the ~. to start the sesstion. On the
other hand, scripting caused the same log as above.  What I did was
add the line "set openmode active" at the end of the script, and all
is well.
