Had bsd running on a machine for a while now, and all of a sudden things gone way wrong. I changed my thin coax network to a RJ45 ethernetwork and now freebsd wont answer any requests coming from within the network. ie. if the freebsd has an ip of 1.1.1.1, frebsd wont answer telnet, pop3, http, ftp, etc. requests from 1.1.1.?, any nodes on the network. It was working fine before I made the change to the ethernet setup. What gives? It answers requests from anywhere else on the internet. When I try telneting in I get a connected, but no login prompt...when I send a http requests I get a "request send, waiting for host to reply", and when I send a pop request I get a time out. FTP and anything doesn't work in a similar way. However, if I ping freebsd machine from anywhere on the ethernetwork I get good ping times.... what gives here? However interestingly enough if I send http requests from the server itself it does answer but I can't ftp or telnet to the server itself from within the server....has me baffled...any input please (would be very much appreciated) Thanks Thomas Schroecker thomas@canadian-agra.com http://www.canadian-agra.com
