Set the modems up per the lizard book. Make sure baud rate is fixed at 
115200. Alo shut the speakers off (atm0) as they cause very strange 
problems. We use all sportsters on our Portmaster and they perform great 
with these settings. We did experience some problems in the start that 
were similar.
