I'm having trouble installing BSD 0.1 on my 386. I currently have a
CDC Wren V 380 Meg drive. I havn't had any success in completing the
install process. I can boot the base floppy just fine. When I get into
the stage of installing the bin01 base software it gets to the
"final installation" and the system locks up. I believe it is creating
devices via a mknod when it fails. The system will than boot off the Hard
disk but the system name is not set and the pseudo ttys are not created.
The system will also lock up when I try to build a new kernel. I know there
is a patch to fix this heavy I/O related lock up, but I can't get the kernel
built and installed. Is there someone out there that can give me copy of the
patched kernel, or a work around. I'm in a situation where I can't go any
further with BSD. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
