I'm attempting to alias a second IP to a 3C509 card. Under BSDI 2.0 I issue
   ifconfig ef0 alias.ip.number alias

The system seem to like it, but I can ping the second address. However, from another node on the local area network, I can. The really strange part arises
when dial-up users connect to a different box running BSDI 1.1 they can't
see the aliased IP. Any pointers, or am I missing something blatently obvious?
