As with any file server IO speed is of the essence. Make sure you get multiple
drives rather than one large one. SCSI controllers can read/write simultaneously
from more than one drive getting you an order of magnitude greater raw disk IO.
This especially good for swap, which is slow enough without being stored on an
already busy drive.
One big disk does get you more storage capacity, though. With, of course, all your
eggs in the same basket. Best of all get a RAID controller. I
understand the Compaq SmartRAID controller is supported, try that. If money no
object get an external RAID box.
