I am sure that that must be some simple problem with MY CONFIGURATION.
But what is strange, i managed to install PPP Server with same configuration
on Linux Box and even on Solaris (PPPD 2.2) and those boxes worked just fine.
A Few month ago I started using FreeBSD and noticed it more stable than Linux
and even better solution that SUN SPARCs Solaris (these are very busy).

What I install is FreeBSD 2.1.0-950726-SNAP (I'll reinstall it when 2.1 is
ready). I use mgetty to receive answer calls and execute /usr/sbin/pppd.
This is my server configuration:

beta: {11} more options
-detach
38400
silent
proxyarp
modem
crtscts
mru 296
disconnect /usr/local/sbin/pppserv.down
auth
+pap
name pppserwer
passive pppserv:ppp_0

Where beta - ed0 IP adress
pppserv - local ppp0 IP adress
      ppp_0,ppp_1,... - remote IPs.

Under Linux and Solaris we do not even had to have separate IPs for: ed0, ppp0
. What I think and know after reading PPPD docs, a deamon will set a route path
by itself.

Everything works fine. I can connect to FreeBSD and PPP connection is
established. I can ping and got aswer from beta, but i cannot reach any other
hosts. I would like to say it once more it worked, we used it for a couple of
months.

I did use sysctl to change net.inet.ip.forwarding and it said the previous
value was 1 so i am not sure if it'll help much.

Is it your suggestion to recompile the kernel w/o GATEWAY option and then
set the proper value ?????

What did I do wrong ????

Greets
