Help! I need some help rather quick here. I was doing some configuration
and I seemingly accidentally wiped out my /etc/rc file. As a result of this,
the thing now boots with 386bsd (Amnesiac) (console), shows the login: prompt,
and I login, and suddenly the whole filesystem is read-only.

I thought about trying to mread the individual disks, and cpio'ing them until
I found one that had the /etc/rc file, but I cannot copy the files onto my
file system if it's read only.

1) Should I get the fixit.fs? Would it help?
2) I DO NOT want to reinstall. I've done some - a great deal, I suppose of
modifications to this fs and I haven't even figured out a good and reliable
backup scheme yet.

Help. Please email suggestions or if you can call me anytime at
area code (408) 253 7992.
