Just as a followup to others.

The XEROX Smallprinter (which is a rebadged TI 300 PS,
but I have also tested this on the TI 600 PS series)
are optimised for use with the Windows and MAC drivers.
With these drivers they seem to work fine but
with generic Level 1 Postscript (i.e. UNIX utility
produced PS and Netscape or with the Apple LaserWriter
driver in Windows etc) they are way too
slow to print graphics. A simple small graphic image
(400k) alone on an A4 page can take up to
20 minutes to issue a page with more complicated
graphics (1M) taking up to 50min. PCL and
text only PS printing appeared to be fine.

I also tried HP 5MP and Lexmark which were
fine (cost about twice as much!!) taking about
2-6 min to print the above mentioned pages.
I suppose you get what you pay for !!

In the end I settled for the Digital Laser3500
because I get such a good discount. Bit of
overkill for a home printer but what the heck!

Jon
