Hello!

I am quite new to FreeBSD, so it might be a FAQ. I installed
FreeBSD2.0.5 on my Think Pad 530CS. And the installation was sucsess.

After that I have reconfigured the kernel to be able to handle APM
device, there is something wrong with that. I can boot with the kernel
but if I use a command such as apmconf and apm, it goes panic.

In the message of the booting, there are lines like

 ] apm0 on isa
 ] apm0: Engaged control enabled
] found APM BIOS version 1.1
 ] apm0: Idling CPU disabled

And I put these two line in a /usr/src/sys/i386/GENERIC file to
reconfigure the GENERIC kernel.

 ] options APM
 ] device apm0 at isa?

Did I do wrong ? Or can not I use configuration of apm on Think Pad ?
Will you please help me.

Thank you in advece, and please forgive me of my poor English.
