Fermilab has written and made available "jukebox" codes for both IRIX and AIX. This would be a good place to start. They can be found under AFS in: /afs/fnal.gov/products/IRIX/juke/v4_0 and other subdirectories of /afs/fnal.gov/products/. We have several exabyte stackers and have always run them in sequential mode. In sequential mode the next tape is loaded as soon as one is ejected. No software is needed for sequential mode. -- John M.
