The reason some ATI Mach 64 based cards DON'T work is that ATI
keeps throwing on new RAMDAC's, some of which are not supported
in the version of Xfree86 that you are using (3.1). I believe
the 3.12 release of XFree86 has support for more ATI variant
RAMDACS.

They've chosen to boost the life of the Mach 64 cards on the market
by putting in newer ramdacs for performance/cost benefits. However,
this does "break" things on occasion.

I'm using an older GPT with FreeBSD 2.0.5 and Xinside's X server.
The thing flies!
