: Announcing the OpenMac Developers mailing list

: This mailing list is dedicated to the technical aspects of porting
: different UNIX flavors, such as Linux and NetBSD (referred to here as
: the OpenMac projects), to the Macintosh and PowerMacintosh hardware.
: These projects *desperately* need one thing to succeed: information.

: They need information about the specialized hardware and low-level
: driver software in the each Macintosh line. Until now, Apple has been
: slow to volunteer this information, and since the OpenMac projects
: are dedicated to the open exchange of information and source code,
: there is little likelihood of signing non-disclosure agreements.

Apple should REALLY consider supporting this mailing list. They need all
the computer geeks on their side that they can get because when someone
who is not knowledgeable about computers is deciding which system to buy,
they turn to their friend, the computer geek, and if the computer geek
has bad things to say, Apple's lost another sale.
