None of the Perl-5's that I've seen yet (including 5.001m) are even
remotely stable, in my experience.  I'm just a user of some perl
scripts (mainly Lee McLoughlin's mirror and latex2html), and so far
most of them have either had serious space leak problems, or dumped
core on me.  I've reverted to perl 4 in all cases where that is
possible.  Therefore, the FreeBSD team's decision is sound.
