As I've noted,I'm planning to use FreeBSD on my nascent ISP(the digital
circuit and phone lines are coming in this week, the computers hopefully
next,the modems the week after).

However, the guy who is selling my systems wants to install BSDI,which he
is familiar with, and the guy who recommended FreeBSD to me is not familiar
with the differences between FreeBSD and BSDI.

I do NOT want to have to keep upgrading a commercial-product license as I
expand my network.

So if I install the OS-independent Internet apps while waiting for 2.1
to reach release status, and then convert the OS to 2.1 when it comes out
and take the network live, what differences will I encounter between BSDI
and FreeBSD?
