Make yourself your own primary (even if it's shadowing the official
primary then).  Make your nameserver pulling zone files for all zones
in your search list, including all IN-ADDR.ARPA zones (i.e., make it a
secondary for all these zones).

Add the next nameservers beyond the link as "forwarders" in the
named.boot file.
